Values and Beliefs

ReBorne is a Christian church which identifies with historical Christianity.
We affirm The Apostles’ Creed.
We value the unity of all Christians and churches who faithfully share the good news of Jesus as revealed in Scripture.
ReBorne is a member of the Evangelical Alliance, the largest body serving evangelical Christians in the UK, and affirms their statement of faith, but, of course, not necessarily all of their public statements or the content of their publications.

What We Believe

ReBorne Church believes there is one God in Three persons - Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We believe God has revealed himself through the Bible. Through the Bible we learn that God created all things and made humanity in his image, meaning they could relate to God. But humanity rejected God, and the way he designed life to work, which fractured humanity’s relationship with God. God respected this rejection, but this meant humanity fell under God’s judgement and experienced death. But this is not the end of the story.

The Bible primarily tells God’s rescue story for creation and humankind; rescue from the evil in the world, his own judgement, and death. God’s rescue plan was radical. God became human and entered his own creation through Jesus, lived a flawless life, and died a sacrificial death on a cross. Three days later he rose from the grave displaying his victory over death. After rising, Jesus returned to be with God, promising that one day he would return.

In the meantime, he sent his Holy Spirit to draw people to him and live within his people, giving them resurrection life. God invites everyone into this resurrection life, and gifts it to all who come in faith and repentance. People who have received this new life become part of God’s family, his Church. The Church is called to live as God’s ambassadors until Jesus’ promised return, when he will bring both judgement and salvation.

We actively encourage our members to display spiritual growth habits.
